2K and WWE announce multi-year license extension

As if there were any doubts, 2K and WWE announced a new multi-year deal for WWE video game properties. No financial terms were disclosed, but the agreement gives 2K exclusive rights to WWE games on all platforms. Although 2K has only partnered with the WWE for the past three years (2K purchased the license from THQ), WWE games have been an on-going yearly tradition for the past 18 years.

While the announcment did not touch upon, or mention Yuke's by name, it is a safe assumption that they will continue to develop the yearly WWE 2K series inconjunction with Visual Concepts.

On the mobile front, 2K will continue to invest in WWE SuperCard. Initially launching in August 2014, there have been multiple add-ons available for the free-to-play mobile game. WWE SuperCard has been downloaded more than nine million times across both iOS and Android devices.
