As the holiday season quickly approaches, it seemed, for a time, that we may have never gotten any next-generation news. Xbox Series S launches on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. Microsoft has yet to tip their hat on whether if this falls day and date with the Xbox Series X.
The all-digital Xbox Series S is 60% smaller than the Series X and supports the same next-generation technology in terms of DirectX ray tracing, variable-rate shading, and variable refresh rate. The resolution is limited to 1440p at up to 120fps but does have 4K upscaling for games. This is similar to the current generation Xbox One S. The included SSD has been cut in half, limiting the console to 512GB.
