Warner Bros. teased an announcement yesterday that would bring together two of the world's most popular brands. Although Xbox.com leaked it ahead of time, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been officially announced, along with a teaser trailer that features the trademark humor the series is known for. First and foremost, the game launches on June 28, 2016, on every platform imaginable, including PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS.

"LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be pushing the series forward with innovative new gameplay mechanics, while also exploring new parts of the universe that are sure to excite and delight both LEGO and Star Wars fans, as well as newcomers to our games.”Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens will introduce new gameplay mechanics, but, more importantly, provide additional story content exploring the 30 years between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. There are already a handful of books that cover the important events during this time period, but the game looks to focus on the characters from The Force Awakens.
