Shaquille O’Neal seeks videogame redemption with a new entry into the infamous Shaq Fu franchise. Known as one of, if not the worst game of all time, Shaq has turned to Indiegogo to help him create a videogame that he can finally be proud of.
Helping him accomplish the task is Big Deez Productions, a seemingly new videogame development team comprised of industry veterans that worked on Halo, Street Fighter, Max Payne, Duke Nukem, Madden Football and others. Steve Molitz, a world-renowned musician and composer, will produce the game’s soundtrack.
Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn will play similar to classic beat ‘em up titles, such as the classic Double Dragon, as players take control of the Shaq on his quest to defeat the Black Star Ninja. With hundreds of moves to learn and unlock, the game will utilize an over the top presentation style. A progression system allows for enhanced skills and power-ups will use all of Shaq’s nicknames throughout his career.
Although $15 will get you a digital copy of the game, which will retail for $29.99 upon release, some of the more expensive donation tiers have some rather unique rewards. For $500 you can get a limited Shaq Fu Figure, signed by Shaquille O’Neal or if you are feeling adventurous and have $25,000 to spend, you can have dinner with Shaq and 6 friends.
