PS5: Future of Gaming event set for June 4 (postponed)

Update: The event has been postponed. "While we understand gamers worldwide are excited to see PS5 games, we do not feel that right now is a time for celebration and for now, we want to stand back and allow more important voices to be heard," @PlayStation twitter posted on June 1.

After weeks of speculation, Sony has finally announced the date and time for their next PlayStation 5 event. With the DualSense controller, reveal, and technical specifications for the console out of the way, this event will focus on the most crucial component when it comes to buying a console, the games.

The presentation is set to last a little over an hour and will be our first look at the games we'll be playing after the PlayStation 5 launches. The wording implies that gameplay footage for both launch and future titles will be included. You can expect gameplay from small indie studios to larger established publishers and developers, showcasing the hardware's potential.

No further details were given about whether we can expect to see the console's final design or details regarding launch date/pricing.

The Future of Gaming PlayStation 5 event takes place on June 4 at 4 PM ET and will be live-streamed on Twitch and YouTube.
