PlayStation Vita owners will finally have another reason to charge up and turn on their system with the inclusion of PlayStation Plus – coming on November 19th with system software update v2.0. Along with PS +, there will also be an email app, the ability to transfer content wirelessly between your PS Vita and PC, and enhancements to the web browser. Who am I kidding? While these updates are welcomed, the biggest news here is PlayStation Plus. The first set of titles that you will eb able to add to your Instant Game Collection will be released on November 20th along with the standard PlayStation Store update. Ok, I’ve been teasing you for long enough. Here are the first set of titles:Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Jet Set Radio HD, WipEout 2048, Gravity Rush, Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack! as well as Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions (PSP).
What do I think about the titles? For the first batch of Free titles, Sony is providing some of the best games the Vita has to offer. There is no mention on how often the titles will be rotating, so for all we know, we may be stuck with these titles for quite some time.
I’m actually pretty excited that PlayStation Plus will be coming to the Vita, but the file sizes of the games do scare me a bit. If Sony utilized SD cards instead of an over priced proprietary memory card, – 32GB card is still $80+ on Amazon – I would be more excited. Of course, you can transfer files between your Vita and PC, but it is not necessarily user friendly 100% of the time.
