After a highly successful and popular (minus server congestion the first night) closed beta, SEGA Games has announced the start of the open beta stage for Phantasy Star Online 2 on Xbox One in North America. On March 17, 2020, at 8 PM ET, players can log in and explore the game with friends and experience everything the game has to offer. Members of the closed beta can use the same downloaded client for the open beta, but if you are new, the download for the client will begin the day prior at 1 PM ET on March 16, 2020.
At the start, the game will include the first three episodes, which is essentially the first three years of in-game content. Upon login, players receive an assortment of swords, rifles, rods, and gunblades, as well as numerous items. The North American build also includes all of the quality-of-life improvements from the Japanese servers. There are four unique races and nine classes to choose from when creating a character. Need a break, check out the mini-games in the casino or attend all-new live events in the shopping district.
Players can sign up for the open beta for Phantasy Star Online 2 on the Microsoft Store. No word on/if PC will be getting any type of beta.
