After slowly teasing the release of the first expansion for the ever so popular Hearthstone: Heroes Of Warcraft virtual card game, fans were finally given a release date. Blizzard has announced that Hearthstone: Curse of Naxxramas will be available on July 22.
Blizzard wrote on their official site, “Curse of Naxxramas goes live globally for Windows, Mac, and iPad on Tuesday, July 22, starting with the Arachnid Quarter, the first of five creepy wings that will be released weekly after the gates are opened.”
The expansion is meant to give Hearthstone a real single-player adventure for the first time, as it has been mostly multiplayer oriented since its initial release. Players will explore and battle enemies in the five wings of the World Of Warcraft dungeon the expansion is based on. There are even boss battles at the end of each wing and rare cards to be earned. Making it to the end will net players an exclusive card pack.
The wings can be purchased either individually or in a pack for $25. If you decide to purchase the game one wing at a time, it will set you back $7 or alternatively 700 in game gold for each one. Time or money, the choice is yours.
Remember, the first wing of the expansion will be free for roughly a month following release. A new wing will open up each week after the first until all five are playable.
