E3 2014: Spec Ops: The Line dev announces Dreadnought

Publisher Grey Box has announced a partnership with the Berlin-based studio YAGER (Spec Ops: The Line) to create an all-new aerial armada action game for PC. Dreadnought takes place during a futuristic war, as players take on the role of a mercenary spaceship captain fighting for glory.

Battleships are promised to be massive, coming in various classes and styles. Having full control of the ship is something that YAGER truly believes in, as you’ll be able to customize all the weapons, engines, armor, abilities, crew and aesthetics of the ship.

“Dreadnought harkens back to the PC space combat game we developed when we first started out,” explained Mathias Wiese, Art Director and Co-Founder at YAGER. “In the years since, we’ve been developing and testing some incredible ideas that now perfectly come together in Dreadnought. Grey Box has been an amazing partner and we’re incredibly thankful they share our vision for what Dreadnought will become.”

The team at YAGER will be working with players during development of the game and are aiming to enter a public testing in early 2015. Dreadnought is powered by Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4.

We will have more coverage on Dreadnaught in the coming days at E3.
