Ubisoft decided to show off gameplay footage just to entice fans a bit more for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed III. And wow, what a set of footage we got. The new Assassin, Connor, is a very capable fighter with a wide array of abilities not seen before in the Assassin’s Creed series. One in particular, the ability to hang people up in trees, was spectacular to watch.

The new title will take place over a course of 30 years, starting before the Revolution begins and going well after. Players can expect to see a wide variety of environments, weather systems, and new challenges. It even looked a little open-world…

UPDATE: From the Sony press conference, we also got to see all new gameplay footage for the seafaring parts of the game. Connor will take control of a ship on the high seas as he hunts down the Templars. The gameplay for this looked pretty fantastic and right out of movies like Pirates of the Caribbean. There is also planned connectivity with the Vita title Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation and a PS3 bundle planned for release.

Note: Media will be added as soon as its available
