Update: Since the leak, GameStop has confirmed that the promotional image is genuine.
If a leaked promotional image for GameStop Pre-order DLC is to be believed, Batman won’t be the only vigilante playable in the newest Arkham game. The advertisement, posted by Batman News, showcases two additional story missions for Batman: Arkham Knight. The Joker’s equally loony partner Harley Quinn and the mysterious Red Hood will get individual story packs for the Rocksteady developed title.
The identity of Red Hood in this DLC is unknown, as in Batman lore the person behind the Red Hood has frequently changed. Once being the original form of The Joker, before the clown persona, another being one of the former Robins, Jason Todd. Regardless, both had disastrous results for the people of Gotham.
It is safe to assume that this content will be a timed exclusive for GameStop and that players will be able to pay to download the DLC sometime after the game is released as per usual for pre-order bonuses. Also, don’t rule out the possibility of other pieces of DLC becoming pre-order exclusives at other retail outlets like Best Buy and Wal-Mart like previous Arkham games.
The final chapter in the Arkham series will see Batman facing off against the currently unknown Arkham Knight. The game takes place after the events of Arkham City where a distraught Bruce Wayne must dawn the cape once more to protect Gotham and its citizens. This entry marks the first time that the Batmobile will be usable and the game will take full advantage of using the vehicle to make the player truly feel like The Dark Knight.
Batman: Arkham Knight is coming in 2015 for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.
