AVerMedia Unveils ExtremeCap U3 for Uncompressed 1080p 60fps Video Capture

One of the leading companies in video capture technology, Avermedia unveils a USB 3.0 capture device allowing anyone to record uncompressed 1080p video at a blazing 60fps. The ExtremeCap U3 has both an HDMI input and a AV IN input for the PS3, ensuring support for your favorite platform. It will be compatible with the PS4 once Sony releases the patch that allows game capture through HDMI. The ExtremeCap U3 will come packaged with plug-ins for two of the most popular video editing software Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and Sony Vegas. This new capture device will require a USB 3.0 port in order to function, so if you don’t have one available you may want to look at adding additional ports to your PC using a PCI or PCI Express slot.

Using Avermedia for all of our video captures and live streaming utilizing both the Live Gamer HD and the Live Gamer Portable, the ExtremeCap U3 will be compatible with not only XSplit and Wirecast, but the newcomer to the streaming community OBS (I highly recommend trying it). Streaming to TwitchTV, Justin.TV and Ustream has never been simpler, thanks to the easy to learn interface of RECentral. Utilizing the power of USB 3.0, Avermedia promises there will be no need to output the signal to an additional monitor as the preview window will feature zero latency.

The included USB 3.0 Diagnosis Tool will test the performance of the connected USB 3.0 port, ensuring it is capable of supporting video at 1080p 60fps. The frame rate can be adjusted if it is unable to run at 60fps and the ExtremeCap U3 is backwards compatible with USB 2.0.
