Could another visit to Rapture be on the horizon? 2K seems to want you to ponder this question. The UK Twitter account for Bioshock publisher 2K tweeted out an image from the original game. An advertisement for the in-game location Eve’s Garden, an exotic dance venue in Fort Frolic, with the caption, “Oooo, what COULD this mean?!”. This was the precursor to another tweet with the same image and the caption, “#Discuss”.
Since the tweet, nothing has come from 2K’s general account, provoking the thought that this upcoming announcement could be just for the UK area.
The information given is very vague, so there is of course a lot of speculation as to what this whole thing could mean. The most suggested theory is remastered versions of the first two BioShock games, which were set in Rapture and both featured the Eve’s Garden advertisement.
Whatever it is, don’t expect it to be the BioShock Vita game that was announced back at E3 2011. Earlier this month, BioShock creator Ken Levine, stated that there was almost no hope for that game coming to fruition, as Sony and 2K were not able to strike a deal. It is also worth mentioning that Levine’s studio Irrational Games, who worked on all three BioShock games, closed back in February. This means a new title in the series would be helmed, for the first time, by a different studio.
The last BioShock, BioShock: Infinite, was released in March 2013 and has sold more than 6 million copies worldwide.
